FAQ

The answers, unfiltered.

Everything I get asked most often, in real language, without the fluff.

Before Your Appointment

What should I wear to my appointment?+

Whatever you're comfortable in. Most facials only require you to remove your top layers and get cozy under the blankets, so I recommend wearing something easy to change in and out of. If you're coming from work, no need to overthink it.

Should I come with a bare face?+

You're welcome to, but you definitely don't have to. Whether you arrive in full makeup, sunscreen, or completely bare-faced, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before we begin.

Do I need to stop using retinol, exfoliants, or acne products before my appointment?+

Sometimes, yes. Certain products can make the skin more sensitive before treatments, especially if you use retinoids, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide, or prescription acne medications. If I want you to pause anything before your appointment, I'll let you know ahead of time.

Skincare & Products

Do I need to buy a whole new skincare routine to work with you?+

Not necessarily. Sometimes your skin needs a full routine reset, but often it's more about making smart changes than replacing everything you own. My goal is never to overwhelm you with products. I'll tell you what I think is worth keeping, what may be working against you, and where I think your money is best spent.

Will you make me throw away all of my current skincare?+

No. If something is working well for your skin, I'm not interested in replacing it just for the sake of it. I may recommend removing products that are contributing to irritation, breakouts, or barrier damage, but I'll always explain why.

What if I'm on a budget and can't overhaul my routine all at once?+

That's completely okay. If changes need to be made, we can prioritize what will make the biggest difference first and build from there. I'd much rather create a realistic plan you can actually stick with than recommend a perfect routine that isn't doable.

Treatments

Can I still come in if my skin is flaring, irritated, peeling, or freaking out?+

Usually, yes. In fact, that's often when your skin needs the most support. If your barrier is compromised or your skin is especially reactive, your appointment may look a little different than originally planned, but we'll always work with what your skin can safely tolerate that day.

Will my treatment be the same every time?+

Not always. Your skin can change a lot from month to month depending on stress, hormones, weather, travel, medications, and what you've been using at home. Treatments at Lunar Bloom are customized based on what your skin needs that day, not just what was booked online.

Can I get a facial if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?+

Usually, yes, but please let me know ahead of time so I can make sure your treatment and product choices are appropriate for this season of life.

Studio & Policies

Can I bring a friend, partner, or child with me?+

To keep the studio calm and relaxing for everyone, I ask that you come to appointments solo unless you've reached out and gotten prior approval.

What if I'm running late?+

If you're running behind, please text me as soon as you can. Depending on the timing, we may need to shorten your service to stay on schedule for the next client. If you are more than 15 minutes late, I reserve the right to reschedule your appointment and charge you a cancellation fee.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, same-day cancellations, and no-shows are charged 100% of the scheduled service total. As a small business, that reserved appointment time matters a lot, and I appreciate your understanding.

Do you offer refunds on services or skincare?+

Services are non-refundable. Skincare purchases may be handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the product and the situation, so if there's an issue, please reach out.
